Full Sun (At Least 6 Hours Of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height 6 - 7 FeetMature Spread 4 - 5 FeetGrowing Zones 3 - 8Use As A Thriller In ContainersAs summer progresses, so will the ever-changing color of the Berry White Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata Berry White). In July, the flowers of this stunning Hydrangea will emerge cone-shaped and creamy white. These voluptuous blooms will gradually take on varying shades of pink, eventually turning deep punch pink. Growing 6-7 feet tall and 4-5 feet wide, the Berry White Hydrangea makes a statement in a sunny garden, both as a standalone plant and when paired with others to create a pollinator-loving deciduous hedge. When allowed to grow to its natural size, the Berry White Hydrangea can prove to be a low-maintenance plant. Like many Panicle Hydrangeas, this shrub loves plenty of sunlight and regular water. The Berry White is a long-blooming variety, keeping its color late into the fall. The big blooms can be removed throughout the summer and fall for use in bouquets or to be dried and used in decor.Berry White Hydrangea CarePlant the Berry White Hydrangea in a spot where it can get full sun and has easy access to water. In hotter climates, this Hydrangea may need a bit of protection from intense afternoon sun to prevent it from getting too hot and drying out. To plant it, dig a hole that is as deep and wide as the root ball. Hydrangeas prefer soil that is well draining and moist but not soggy. Water this shrub regularly, especially in the hottest and driest parts of the year. Berry White will benefit from application of a slow-release fertilizer made for blooming plants in the early spring. The Berry White Hydrangea blooms on new wood. For this reason, pruning can take place in the spring if needed to shape and size the shrub. Hydrangea blooms can be removed in the late summer and fall or be left on the plant to create some winter interest. Because Berry White grows to be so large, it is not generally recommended for containers for more than a season or so and should be brought into a protected spot like a garage in the winter to ensure its survival.Berry White Hydrangea SpacingTo allow room for growth, plant the Berry White Hydrangea 4-5 feet away from other plants. When looking to create a hedge or mass planting, plants can be placed a bit closer together where they can fill in any gaps. If planted in a container, choose something large with adequate drainage and use high-quality potting soil.Berry White Hydrangea InformationUSDA Hardiness Zones: 3 - 8Plant Type: BushesLight Exposure: Full Sun (At Least 6 Hours Of Direct Sunlight)Mature Height: 6 - 7 FeetMature Spread: 4 - 5 FeetSpacing: 4 - 5 FeetHabit: UprightFlower Color(s): Pink, WhiteFlower Description: Bloom Period: Throughout July And AugustFoliage Type: DeciduousFoliage Color(s): GreenFoliage Description: Seasonal Interest: Spring Flowering, Summer Flowering, Winter InterestWatering: LowResists: DeerTolerates: DroughtAttracts: ButterfliesContainer Role: ThrillerUses: Borders, Containers, Specimen or Focal PointFeatures: Attracts Pollinators, Cut Flowers, Low Maintenance, Continuous Blooming or RebloomerBrand: First EditionsCommon Name: Berry White Hydrangea | Shrubs > Winter Interest Shrubs Plant Addicts 1009931-pc
